About Royce Koop

“I’m running because I’m worried about the country my daughter will inherit. I believe Conservatives have the right ideas to create a future that is affordable, safe and strong for all Canadians.”

Royce Koop is a professor of political science at the University of Manitoba, where he studies, teaches and writes about Canadian politics. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and has taught at universities across Canada. His academic research has won national awards, and he has taught thousands of young Manitobans about Canadian government and politics.

Royce is also well known to Manitobans as a media commentator on provincial and national politics, having shared his analysis through television, radio, and regular columns in both the Winnipeg Sun and the Winnipeg Free Press.

Through his active community engagement, whether at his daughter’s school, the family Church or his local political activities, Royce has built a strong understanding of the challenges facing local families in our community of Winnipeg South Centre.

Royce lives in Fort Garry with his wife and daughter.
